How to have your TikTok LIVE comments read aloud
While you are live it is hard to read the chat and do anything else. With text to speech you listen to the comments instead. Here is how to set it up in a couple of minutes, for free.
Open the free app No install, no sign-up.
What you need
- A TikTok account that is LIVE at that moment, yours or someone else’s.
- A second device with a browser: a PC, a tablet or another phone.
- Speakers or headphones.
The steps
- Open TikTok ChatOpen the app in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
- Test the voicePress Test voice to hear a sample sentence and check the volume.
- Type the usernameEnter the username of the account that is live. No password is needed.
- ConnectPress Connect and read chat. The first connection can take up to a minute.
- Tune the readingUnder Voice choose the voice, speed and pause between messages. Skip jumps to the next comment.
Tips for a smooth stream
- Keep the app on a different device from the one you stream with: on a phone, browser audio can stop in the background.
- With a busy chat, read only followers or subscribers, or only comments containing certain words.
- Add the words you do not want to hear on stream to the skip list.
- Increase the pause between messages if the voice talks over you.
If something goes wrong
I cannot hear anything
Press Test voice again: browsers enable audio only after a tap. Check the device volume too.
It does not connect
The LIVE must already be running, and the username must be typed without spaces or links.
The first connection is slow
The free server sleeps when nobody is using it. Wait up to a minute.
